First Things First: Experiencing the Rest of God
We live in a non-stop world that is full of opportunities. There is no shortage of good things in which to say yes. Often, we neglect to see how each of our yeses is also a no. The world is not going to stop for us. We have to choose to stop and rest. But, in a world full of to-dos and good things, how do we find time to pause, rest, stop, and say no without feeling guilty? How can we feel secure that we are honoring God if we are not always in continual motion? Join us for this 4-week sermon series First Things First: Experiencing the Rest of God in order to Experience the Rest of God, where we explore these topics. Week 1: Calling Card (Luke 5:1-11) -Making God known by turning your work into worship. Week 2: Fresh Thoughts (Ephesians 417-24) - Nothing really changes until our mind does, and busyness kills our ability to think new thoughts. Week 3: Big Numbers (Psalm 62) - Seeing the bigness of God allows us to see the significance in each day, and seeing the importance of each day helps us to redeem our time. Week 4: More Art Than Science (Isa 58:13-14) - Breaking free of legalism even in keeping the Sabbath.
